Editing song beginning and end

Use Audials One's cut editor to edit the cut mark and fade-in/fade-out at the beginning and end of songs in MP3 format.

Before you begin

Restriction: It is only possible to edit MP3 files. If the button is displayed, the selected file is not an MP3 file.

Table 1. Cut editor commands
  Name Description
Song beginning/song end Switch between editing the beginning and end of a song by clicking Song beginning or Song end.
Scissors Move cut marker to set the beginning/end of the song.
Fade-in/Fade-out marker Move fade marker to add a fade of the desired duration.
Playback marker Click any spot in the audio track to set the playback position.
Play Click to play back the audio track, starting from the playback marker.
Play beginning/end Click to play a preview of the song beginning/end.

Step-by-Step: Editing song beginning and end

  1. Select a song in the Player.
  2. In the toolbar above the playlist, click .
    The cut editor opens. It displays the beginning of the song.
    Note: If the button is displayed, the selected file is not an MP3 file.
  3. Optional: Click to see the complete first half of the track or zoom in and out with and .
  4. Click to play a preview of the song beginning.
  5. Move to adjust the song beginning and move to adjust the duration of the fade-in.
  6. Click to test your editings.
  7. Click Song end and repeat steps 5 to 6.
  8. Click Save when you are satisfied with the result.

Results

You can now play back the edited song in the player.

How can I cut more than 30 seconds?
In the cut editor, click . Audials One now shows the first half of the song. Click Song end and to see the second half of the song.
